I had created my own makeup look for myself in my music video which I actually then did on myself before filming. I had picked to do a very natural not to heavy looking makeup. I did a very subtle eye with no eye shadow just a light wing and some mascara. I then went in with a bit of contour to give my face a bit of definition and color, going on with a very light nude glossy lip added with a nice highlight along the cheeks. I decided to do this makeup look as was filming in a very dull but unique setting which would bring more attention to myself and suit the vibe and feel of the song. We had filming myself in a few golden hour lighting where the sun was on my face, using this highlighter on my cheeks and nose gave off this shiny and glittery feel which fits the song and that part of the lyrics perfectly contrasting nicely with the woods. As my skin was looking very matte with the glossy lip it contrasts a really compelling visual that people would like to look at.
Costume
For my costume I had decided to go with a rather basic look. I had picked out a black oversized brandy melvile hoodie with a orangish brown and yellow butterfly in the middle with then a cream plain flares on the bottom. I had picked this black hoodie as black represents mystery, elegance and power which is what i liked to fit into are music video. The butterfly in the middle of the hoodie was a perfect contrast with the woods behind and nature as it was all the colors you could see in the woods, as well as it being on a black surface it made it more eye catching and noticeable. I went with the white cream flares as these fades usually brightens and highlights space. I thought this was perfect as it contrast with the black on top harshly as they are complete opposite which symbolizes the to parts of the song and the two parts I play i the song. As the white is more the lyrical part of the song where I am just lip singing symbolizing calm, peace and elegancy where has the black shows the more beat drop side of the music video as mystery, power and fun. Both these colors of items look pleasing to the eye, with this big contrast with the brown and orangish background myself in these colors stand out from the background which brings the audiences attention on me.
I have also made a youtube video of a time lapse of me doing my makeup for shooting and created a pinterest mood board of costume and props.
