Social media is the most powerful tool for artists. The purpose of an artists social media page is so they can post, spread, share, advertise, market and share your music and art with a huge audience across the world. Using social media the artists are able to post or share an image/video or an message onto there platform which is open for everyone around the world to see. This allows the artists to connect with their fans from commenting and interacting with the artists posts allowing them to get answers and inspiration for what there fans like and opinions which helps them produce even better work.  Social media also is basically a free way of advertising and marketing themselves and their music as they are able to post there merchandise for example on there platform with linking there website to purchase it, as well as releasing a new song or album they can create a countdown on there socials hyping up there fans and following shares advertising their own work. This also helps them get noticed as developing a following gauging their popularity through likes automatically doubles the shares and the viewers who see their posts marketing for new deals and collabs  which get recognised and passed on by some of the bigger companies and other artists 

Artists used their social media platforms to promote and advertise their music. For example here is billie Eilish post on her instagram page. This is allowing them to communicate to their fans with when they are going on tour and when they are arranging events to organise and make fans aware so they are able to get tickets to boast revenue and sell out there shows. 

Some artists have a specific layout of either there general life or there music posts. Either post randomly or in an order, either one brings out a unique and eye catching which draws consumers attention into reading it. As you can clearly see throughout when artists are posting there album and theme they stick to it. Billies eilish new album it happier than ever, which is lit gold and white theme. As you can see here she posted a few things to do with her album and the colour shade all comes together. However, billie uses different colour for different albums as each album is something new and exciting that fits very well with the lyrics of each song in her album. This is done to make people be curious about her new albums as each is different and shows it all evolving as she creates new ideas and new songs. Techniques like this is very effective as the colour can bring more attention to the audience as is is a signifier for her and her music.

She has used her social media to post her album, where all her fans and followers can view this and then go look at it and listen to it where she then gets her spotify, download and brought albums through her fans viewing her post. The colour of her album is this black with this tint of grey shadowy colour. Where she then is shaded in a dark black into it. This black cover signifies to the album as its about her relationship that was quite dark and miserable. This dark look implies to her depressing and low mood she lived during her relationship. This is quite a unusual and unique cover which brings attention to it as people are curious what her story is about.

This colour was chosen very wisely as she has her name in big bold writing at the bottom which adds a more dramatic effect as it is a big contrast with the black. As this is such a important message behind it and a true sad real love story really makes it play on people's mind which brings an audience to listen as it get shared through friends and family which brings it even more attention.

She uses her social media platform to communicate with her fans for example she said in a recent interview she she targets older audiences which she was able to say using her platform. This black tone theme emphasises the mood of the album, signifying her heartbreak and pain. This keeps people wrapped up in her music as they are interested in what she posts regarding her album and music. This black and white tone contrasts well with the white instagram background making it more dramatic and eye catching. As this signigers her deep story and what her whole album is about it makes people feel sympathetic or even relatable which brings more people in to listen to her music and follow her.

As we can clearly see she has posted her most famous song driver's licence cover on her instagram where she has clearly thought wisely on the image as she has put a her own diving licence on the cover which is cool and unique that all her fans and other views would think is cool as it goes perfectly with the song driver's licence and just makes perfect sense as also the caption is 'first time performing at the brits' where we can also see in her post at the top the Brit awards 2021. She has used her instagram to promote and advertising not only her music but that she will be performing soon at a concert or an event as she is letting her fans know through her social media page, allowing her followers to get tickets asap sending to friends and family who are interested in booking the date in to go  gaining her more viewers as its getting shared around. The colour of her Album Sour is this purple background with OLivia herself with her arms crossed sticking her tounge out with stickers on her face. This purple cover represents power, independence bravery and devotion which is a signifier for herself in her music of the whole album and how she feels now after her heartbreak being independent and better now. As for the name of the album 'sour' as this is her exploring her perils and discoveries at 17 with this title referring to the sour emotions young people experience but are often criticized for anger, jealousy and unhappiness. This album cover is very unique ass it's not often there is a bright purple album cover it is usually in the duller colour skym like a brown, black or blue so therefore stands out the purple also goes very well with all the songs in the album as she is an independent, strong and brave girl whos had her heartbroken which stands out from the purple.
