Year 12 Reflection
Year 12 Reflection
Reflecting over my Year 12 year, i created, edited, filmed and produced my psychological thriller opening for my media alevel. I got this inspiration through the previous research into the genre and inspired by Jaws, Girl on the train, before i go to sleep and bird box. This thrillers influenced me to take a similar ideas for example, plot, mes and editing skills in order to create my suspenseful thrilling thriller.
I personally enjoy the process of filming the clips and editing them all together as i really enjoyed teaching myself and researching editing techniques to put towards my piece. As the transitions and just playing around with the cuts i learnt to create was actual very interesting to me and watching it all come together is felt quite rewarding thoroughly enjoyed it. However, i found having to create my own music basically from scratch was very difficult. I went to the music hall to record myself playing the piano of a very dramatic typical thrilling sound. Which i thought would go well with my film. Although did not end up using the music i created, i decided to have browse on primer pro and garage band with the audio we where aloud access and after a few go's off dragging an appropriate audios editing them properly into my clips i had found the one that worked and sounded best with my thriller.
The advice i would give myself would be to research more into film techniques, camera angles and editing skills in order to expand my knowledge on the subject to just give my work more detailed and a unique style. I would also say to myself to really work on and be aware of time management as i feel like that is a very important factor in keeping my work organised and in its best form. My aims for year 13 is to organise myself a plan and a structure for me to work with through out the year in order to make sure i do not waste time on other aspects and have my full attention and a reasonable time limit to be able to produced my full potential. I would like to develop some more skills in research, camera skills, directing skills
